Lockie McHugh’s domination of the Tolmer Speedway in Bordertown resumed on Saturday night after an average performance of Friday as he drove to victory in the final round of the Power Tour and in the process, he wrapped up the seven-round series. After starting from the third row Australian Champion James McFadden surged to the runner-up position while Californian Cole Macedo completed the podium.

Matt Egel was the best of locals as he finished fourth, but the result could have been better as he ran inside the t three for a majority of the race, while Carson Macedo stormed to record a top five after winning the B-Main. Marcus Dumesny, Callum Williamson, Aaron Reutzel, Grant Anderson, and Peter Doukas completed the top 10. For Reutzel, this was a stunning result as he was relegated to the tail of the field on lap 1 after spinning in turn two.

Daniel Sayre, Justin Whittall, Glen Sutherland, Joel Heinrich, Jy Corbet, Kinser Clarodge, Dylan Menz and Andrew Priolo completed the finishers.

The only red light of the A-main was for Western Australian Champion Kaiden Manders and Ben Morris, who were involved in a crash in turn 1 after Manders jumped the cushion and was collected by Morris.

After setting the quickest time in Flight 1 of qualifying McHugh won his opening heat to lock down the pole position for the dash while Aaron Reutzel, Brendan Quinn and Cole Macedo also claimed heat wins. 

Heat 4 saw a scary incident for Max Guilford, as his race car burst into flames after an engine failure.

Earlier local Bordertown resident Dylan Jenkin also suffered an engine failure in hot laps requiring an engine change prior to the heat races. Despite not recording a qualifying lap Jenkin finished second in his heat race giving him a direct transfer into the A-main.

Carson Macedo, Glen Sutherland, Tim Hutchins, and Ryan Jones were the four drivers to transfer via the B-Main.
