That was the summation from Triple M Kendrick Racing Team boss Geoff Kendrick after a Wednesday night practice session at the Perth Motorplex.
 
The team had a few different runs, trying different things in the lead up to round 3 of the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series at the Perth Motorplex this Saturday night, with the feature event being the Scardifields Smash King of Wings.
Geoff said they were looking for a big result next time out after shock absorber issues in the first two outings cost them a 
“We are now at the point that we are not trying to throw the kitchen sink at our car set-ups and instead we are doing minor tweaks,” Geoff said.
 
“We are going into Saturday’s race against a strong field, but we are confident of being in contention for a podium finish.
 
“Our overall package is good, our car speed is really good and Jason is driving well.” The team tried a different motor in the car on Wednesday night and was very happy with that, fine-tuning the overall package with each outing.

“Now we are set for Saturday night, we just have to keep the car straight over the longer 40 lap race,” Geoff said. “The idea is to get to the pitstop in a good place and not wear everything out in the first half of the race.
 
“We need to make sure we are 100 per cent on our game – and I feel we are going in the right direction.”
